EuroBirdwatch (formerly known as the European Birdwatch) is BirdLife International’s annual festival of events which invites all citizen members from all over Europe to get out, observe, explore and enjoy birds. EuroBirdwatch is part of World Birdwatch – a global initiative established over 10 years ago. The goal is to encourage as many people as possible to go birdwatching over one weekend, and to record sightings of as many as possible of the world’s 10,000 bird species.

Since 2005 the Eurobirdwatch in Armenia is organized by the Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds, BirdLife Affiliate in Armenia. The wide variety of events across the European continent include bird watching excursions, special bird watching events on organic farms, contests for children on identifying birds by their song, bird fairs, excursions to watch birds in national parks and many more activities.

Taking part in Eurobirdwatch event is easy. All you need to do is to go outside, look for birds and record your sightings. You can do your bird observations in your neighbourhood, your school or on a Sunday walk.
